Locked out in Farnworth or Bolton: what to do
Short answer: Stay calm, check other doors and windows are secure, then call 0161 883 4053 with your postcode and door type. Farnworth Locks is on Stone Hill Road; you speak to the local locksmith, not a call centre.
What to know
If the keys are inside and the door is uPVC, tell us on the phone. We often open the door without replacing the lock, as long as the multipoint gear is sound.
If a wooden door has slammed shut and the night latch has caught, say that too. It is a different tool set from a euro cylinder lockout.
We do not publish a fixed arrival time on lockouts. We tell you on the phone where the van is and whether we can come straight to you. There is no hidden daytime call-out fee: we quote before we set off.
Common questions
Should I try to force the door myself?
Forcing a uPVC or composite door often bends the frame or breaks the gearbox, which costs more than a lockout visit. Ring first if you are unsure.
What will you ask when I call?
Postcode, type of door (uPVC, composite, wood), whether anyone vulnerable is inside, and whether the lock has failed closed or you simply do not have keys.
Do you cover Bolton if you are based in Farnworth?
Yes. We come up through Moses Gate and Great Lever for Bolton jobs, and south on the A666 for Kearsley. See our areas page for the towns we cover.
