Emergency call-out is 24 hours. Planned work, lock changes and repairs are booked around that. Every job starts with a phone call so we know whether it is a lockout, a cylinder, or a door that needs the mechanism replacing.

• Emergency locksmith

  Farnworth Locks runs a 24-hour emergency call-out from Stone Hill Road. If you are locked out of a house, a uPVC door will not lock, or a wooden door lock has failed, ring 0161 883 4053 and we will tell you when we can get there.

• uPVC and composite locks

  Most doors around Farnworth and Bolton are uPVC or composite. When the handle drops, the door will not throw, or the cylinder snaps, the multipoint lock is usually the problem. We replace cylinders, handles and lock gearboxes and can fit an anti-snap cylinder where the old one is a snap risk.

• Lock changes

  A lock change is the usual job after you pick up keys for a house, or when a set of keys has gone missing. On a uPVC door that is often a new euro cylinder. On a wooden door it may be the mortice, the night latch, or both. We fit the lock and hand you the new keys before we leave.

• Wooden door locks

  Older houses in Farnworth still have timber doors with a mortice and a separate night latch. We repair or replace those locks, fit lever handles, and line the lock up so the door shuts without forcing it.
